Hello, I've been trying to locate my sister-in-law, Rena [Walkaway] Hankins, for some time and any help would be appreciated. She was the wife of my brother, Wendell [now deceased], and daughter of Chief Walkaway of Cache. She has two sons, Larry and Lewayne, can't locate either. Thanks---Nova

Just a note in admiration to your website and the hard work required by so many to collect all of the history. I started searching after discovering a postcard from Wanada Parker, Daughter of Quanah Parker, Chief of the Comanchies, copywright 1904 by Edward Bates. It has no postmark, but the message was to my Grandmother who was born in Indiana in 1893. The message reads (exactly as written) "helow magie what do you think of me been your ant I wod like to see you.... anser" I hope to try to discover more. Jim Bush, Nashville, Indiana

To Dale,
Thank you for the very nice kind words you said about my father. Im his youngest daughter who lives inthe DFW area. My dad and I were very close. I was a daddys girl. I went to local pow wows with him. yes we all truly miss him. i love him with all my heart. my daddy just had a birthday November 24, my brother and I and my mom went go to eat at my dads favorite restraunt and shared good memories. from this day I go to his graveside in Indiahoma and clean up his grave and put flowers on it. so thank you again for being a good friend to him.

I used to drive one of the buses in Cleburne that Preston rode almost daily to KFC. I got to know him and looked forward to seeing him from day to day. He was a flirt but it was all in good fun and I came to care very much for him. He even got me and my family interested in attending the PowWows in the area.
I watched as health problems took a toll on his body, yet his spirit remained strong. When he passed away I was heartbroken. He was a truly unique man and I was honored to be considered his friend. I still smile when I think of him and will never forget him as long as I live.
