There are twenty-one (21) ASSOCIATIONS, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES, COUNCILS & COURTS OF THE COMANCHE NATION AS OF August 5, 2007 not in any particular order. This list is updated as needed due to changes on the date indicated above.
1. COMANCHE BUSINESS COMMITTEE per the CN Constitution consist of seven elected members of the Comanche Nation meetings are conducted the 1st Saturday of each month usually at the CN New Conference Room.

2. COMANCHE COLLEGE COUNCIL per Charter consists of eight members originally selected by the Director of Education with no more than two CBC members and the CN Chairman. Meetings are conducted on an as needed basis.

3. TRIBAL GAMING COMMISSION (per CN Gaming Ordinance amended through April 17, 2007) regulates tribal gaming operations. The Commission shall consist of four members, one of whom shall be designated as an alternate and at least one Commissioner has to be enrolled Comanche. Commissioners elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman. The CBC shall fill the Commissioners positions.

4. GAMING BOARD OF DIRECTORS shall consist of three voting members a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and one Director. The CN Chairman shall identify and nominate a qualified candidate for any vacancy on the Board of Directors. Nominees shall be confirmed by a majority of the CBC before becoming a member of the Board of Directors. The Directors shall elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson from among themselves. Funding is provided by the Casino Operating Budget. The purpose of the Gaming Board (of Directors) is to serve in a management oversight role over the General Managers and the day to day operations of the gaming operation. NOTE: Resolution No. 65-07 removes CBC members from this board and rescinds Resolution No. 107-06 which added two CBC members to this board.

5. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION shall be appointed by the CN Chairman with the advice of the CBC. The Economic Development Commission shall consist of five members & one member of the CBC as an ex officio member (with no vote). Meetings are conducted the last Thursday of each month.

6. HOUSING BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS are appointed by the CN Chairman with CBC approval. Meetings held 2nd Monday of each month at the housing authority.

7. KCA LAND INTERTRIBAL LAND USE COMMITTEE (per the CN Constitution) the CBC shall designate members of the CBC to represent the tribe on the KCA Intertribal Land Use Committee to transact business regarding property owned jointly by the three tribes. The representatives so designed shall be authorized to enter, on behalf of the Comanche Nation of Indians, into leases, permits, easements, right-of way, contracts for development planning and other transactions, except the sale thereof, relating to tribal lands commonly owned by the KCA Tribes to the extent that the Comanche Tribal Council could so act. Officers are selected from the three KCA Chairmen and the CN Chairman appoints two members of the CBC to serve on the committee. Meetings held the 2nd Wednesday of each month. FY07 operating budget $300,000 from KCA 20% funds.

8. TAX COMMISSIONERS shall consist of two members appointed by the CN Chairman other commissioners are members of the Comanche Business Committee with the CN Chairman an ex officio (no vote) member of the Commissioners. Officers are elected by the Commissioners. Meetings are conducted the last Thursday of each month at the Comanche Business Center. This is an executive committee of the Tax Commission that oversees the administration of the Tax Commission (per Director Raymond Nauni).

9. ELECTION BOARD shall consist of twelve elected members - two members from each of the six voting districts, an at-large member and alternates from each voting district Walters, Apache, Lawton, Cache, Anadarko & Oklahoma City. The Chairman and Recorder are elected by the Election Board membership. FY07 funding $103,000 & FY08 funding $285,664.

10. MUSEUM BOARD shall consist of eight members recommended by the Tribal Administrator and appointed by the CN Chairman. This is the recommended board pending appointment upon completion of their by-laws and review by the CN Chairman (information provided by Acting Museum Director Martina Minthorn). FY07 budget $512,500 & FY08 budget $489,618.

11. INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE BOARD consists of seven tribes Comanche, Kiowa, Apache, Wichita, Caddo, Delaware & Fort Sill Apache. The CN Chairman is an advisor on this board and selects alternates from the Nation. Purpose is to advise the IHS on matters pertaining to each Nation or Tribe.

12. CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMITTEE shall consist of a Facilitator appointed by the CN Chairman and eight members selected by the Facilitator. Meetings are scheduled by the Facilitator on an as needed basis. The purpose of the committee is to draft a new CN Constitution. FY07 budget $109,060 & FY08 budget $75,000.

13. COMANCHE NATION CHILDRENS COURT shall consist of three judges appointed by the CBC they settle family disputes involving Nation children. Court is held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month usually at the CN New Conference Room. FY07 funding $282,000 & FY08 funding $330,000.

14. COMANCHE INDIAN VETERANS ASSOCIATION shall consist of enrolled Comanche Nation Veterans, spouses (Auxiliary) of members of the Comanche Nation who are married to a veteran or veterans (Associate), not Comanche, married to Comanche Nation members. Officers are elected by the active veteran membership. Meetings are held the 1st Thursday of each month usually at the CN New Conference. FY07 funding $46,838 & FY08 funding $46,590. The purpose of this organization is to participate in and encourage, further facilitate and promote patriotic, civil and tribal activities and to function as a non-profit association to assist in activities as a Veterans Association.

15. COMANCHE ELDERS COUNCIL shall consist of any enrolled Comanche 62 years old or older. Their meetings are held the 1st Monday of each month unless the 1st Monday falls on a holiday, then the meeting is held the following Monday usually at the Comanche Nation College. The Chairman is elected by the membership of the Council the Chairman appoints the other officers. The purpose of the council is to inform Comanche elders about culture, history, traditions and current events (purpose information by Raymond Almanza). FY07 funding $125,000 & FY08 funding $125,000.

16. COMANCHE LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION COMMITTEE is open to any person interested in the preservation and promotion of the Comanche language and culture. The purpose of the Comanche Language and Cultural Preservation Committee is to provide the opportunity for Comanche people of all ages to learn to speak, write and understand the Comanche language in order that it and our culture might live on. FY07 & 08 Funding $25,000. Meeting are conducted the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Nations New Conference Room. 17-19. COMMUNITY CENTER COMMITTEES IN APACHE, CACHE (Cahoma) & WALTERS the purpose is to promote in the development of their community by providing numerous functions/activities ie; culture & traditional events (pow-wows, hand games, gospel singing, etc;), funerals, meetings, elections, reunions, youth activities, physical fitness activities, etc; Officers are elected by the communities. FY07 budget $13,500 & FY08 budget $40,000.

20. NATIVE AMERICAN GRAVES PROTECTION and REPATRIATION ACT (NAGPRA) BOARD monitors the NAGPRA programs and advises on NAGPRA issues. Meetings are on an as needed basis at the desecration of the NAGPRA Director. Board members are selected by the CBC.

21. SHOSHONE REUNION COMMITTEE is the planning committee for the annual Shoshone reunions. The Chairman is appointed by the CN Chairman to oversee the functions and budget of the committee. FY 07 budget $25,000 & FY 08 budget $25,000.
